SERVITUDE


The Bible addresses servitude in various contexts, emphasizing that while some forms of
servitude were permitted under specific laws, the overarching message is one of love,
compassion, and freedom from spiritual bondage. Jesus exemplified servanthood by serving
others, and Christians are called to follow his example. Freedom from sin and its consequences
is found through faith in Christ.
Biblical Perspectives on Servitude:
Hebrew Servitude:
The Old Testament includes laws regarding servitude, particularly indentured servitude, where
people could enter into service for a set period, often to repay debts. These laws included
provisions for release and fair treatment.
Contrast with Oppression:
The Bible contrasts the oppression of God's people with God's own compassion for suffering.
God's laws aimed to prevent systematic enslavement and provided opportunities for release.
Spiritual Slavery:
The New Testament often uses the metaphor of "slavery" to describe being bound by sin and
the consequences of sin. Jesus's sacrifice and teachings offer liberation from this spiritual
bondage.
Servanthood as a Virtue:
Jesus emphasized that true greatness comes from serving others, not from lording over them.
Love and Freedom:
Christians are called to serve one another in love, recognizing that freedom from the law is not
an excuse for selfishness but a call to serve.
Finding Freedom from Bondage:
Faith in Christ:
The Bible teaches that freedom from the bondage of sin is found through faith in Jesus Christ.
Spiritual Warfare:
Christians are engaged in a spiritual battle against evil forces, and reliance on God's power is
key to overcoming temptation and spiritual bondage.
Walking in the Spirit:
Living according to the Spirit of God, as opposed to the desires of the flesh, leads to freedom
from sin's control.
Serving Others:
Serving others in love, as modeled by Jesus, is a path to personal growth and a demonstration
of God's love.
Renewing the Mind:
Taking thoughts captive and aligning them with God's word is essential for breaking free from
negative thought patterns and spiritual strongholds.

Maybe if people weren't dick heads and understood instead of judging and thinking it doesn't happen to them because they think they have the perfect family, life will just be that bit easier for people that experience this 😃👍 This rings very close to home for me. Not only myself but for family and friends. The days of it being shut away and talked about or criticised should be over. Yes there are some that milk the system and others that don't know or understand how much help is available. Then you get the ones that want nothing more than to be "rid" of the shadow. In the most difficult moments of life you realize who are true friends or the people who really appreciate you 😊 Unfortunately, most friends will send you a "like", but in reality they do not take time to read your status if they see it's lengthy. WHAT I BELIEVE

I forgive myself and respect myself for changing my life around. I will endeavour to achieve balance in myself, to be a better person and focus on my family and gaining control over my mind. What is past is gone and I do not need to beat or hurt myself to become a better person. I also believe that God gave me gifts and my family members to help others to care about themselves. So I will get traditional medicine done as is my family's tradition because I want and have always wanted to learn about this. And to stand up for my family's rights, even though I may not be a Maori !. Because I have lived around many people of different nationalities and cultures. And most of my girlfriends have been from different nationalities and cultures . Why because they are unique in themselves. I still stand by my beliefs because that is not false and misleading. I still believe that I and others should not judge anyone including ourselves
